The Keren Kolot Educational Foundation was founded following Kibbutz Ketura receiving the Israel Speaker of the Knesset Award in 1987 in recognition of its achievement in co-existence between religiously observant and non-observant Jews.
It has since expanded to become a major force in innovative educational programming, hosting some 6,000 people a year in many programs lasting from a half-day to three months. Keren Kolot’s dedicated staff facilitates open ended, “hands-on” encounters with textual material while utilizing the desert environment. The staff often creates new activities and programs to suit the needs of individual clients.
Our seminars cover diverse themes, including:
Zionism and kibbutz values in practiceCommunity (Kehila) and mutual responsibility, Religious pluralism and tolerance, Sustainability and renewable energy, The desert and the environmentIsrael Advocacy and Middle East Affairs, Keren Kolot seminar participants are housed in the guesthouse, and make use of the kibbutz facilities including the dinning hall, air-conditioned classrooms and the swimming pool.
The stay at Ketura provides an opportunity to enjoy a relaxing kibbutz atmosphere in a setting of striking natural beauty. The kibbutz is proud of its educational center, and the staff of Keren Kolot is eager to share its home - Kibbutz Ketura and the desert beyond it – with their guests.
